Allain Duhangan hydropower plant
Commercial operation of the 192 MW run-of-the-river hydropower plant, Allain Duhangan, began in April 2010. The plant is located in the steep terrain of the Himalayas in the Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh.

Allain Duhangan harnesses the potential of 850m head by diverting the water of Allain and Duhangan rivers. The water is transferred through two separate intakes, two water conveyance tunnels, a long pressure shaft of 1,587m and an underground power house. The plant also has a dedicated double circuit transmission line of 175 km.
The plant is operated as a peaking plant from November to May and as a base load plant during the summer and rainy season from June to October.

In 2013, Allain Duhangan was awarded the runners-up award for Best Hydro Power project by Power Line Awards. The award was presented by Mr Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, then Minister of State with independent charge for Power.
