Adamselv power plant

Norway / Hydropower / Power plant

Adamselv is a hydropower plant in Lebesby Municipality in Troms and Finnmark County.

  • 1973
    Entered into operation
  • 50 MW
    Installed capacity
  • 202.2 GWh
    Annual production

The power plant uses a height of fall of 208 metres from the main reservoir Lake Store Måsevann, which is regulated between 175 and 207 metres above sea level.

The power plant also uses water from Lake Sieidejávri, which is regulated between 208 and 213 metres above sea level. Lake Muorahisjávri is regulated together with Lake Sieidejávri. The Važžejohka River is also diverted to Lake Muorahisjávri.

Adamselv power plant was built by the utility Finnmark Enerigverk, which was later acquired by Statkraft. The power plant has three Francis turbines.

Offervann power plant is also located upstream in the Adams River. The Lille Måsevann pumping station carries water 34 metres higher through a 1,180-metre-long pipe from Lake Lille Måsevann to Lake Store Måsevann. Together with three additional stream intakes, this extra water volume represents approximately 7 GWh net increased production at the Adamselv power plant.
