Operation of the power plant regulates the Folla River, and after the water is used for production at the plant, it is discharged into Lake Follsjøen.
The plant uses a height of fall of 61 metres from the Lake Gråsjø reservoir, which is regulated between 483 and 1,268 metres above sea level. Water is also transferred to the Lake Gråsjø reservoir from the Vindøla River through a transfer tunnel.
The power plant is equipped with a Francis turbine.
