Høyanger K5 power plant

Høyanger K5 is a hydropower plant in Høyanger Municipality in Vestland County. There are two power plants in the same cavern close to Høyanger town centre.

Høyanger K5 uses a height of fall of 597 metres from Lake Bergsvatn down to Sognefjorden. Lake Bergsvatn is regulated between 597 and 569 metres above sea level. Water is also drawn from the lakes Mosdalsvatnet, Fossvatnet and Åsvatnet and from several stream intakes. When K5A was commissioned it replaced Høyanger 1A from 1918.

Høyanger K5B uses a height of fall of 730 metres from Lake Nedre Breiddalsvatnet down to Sognefjorden.

The water is also used as local tap water.
