The power plant uses a height of fall of 70 metres between Lake Gressvatn and Lake Kjensvatn. In addition to water from Lake Gressvatn, water is also transferred from Lake Durmålsvatn and the Gråfjellbekken stream.
A tunnel from Leirskardalen Valley has been extended and serves both as a diversion tunnel to Lake Gressvatn and a head race tunnel to the power plant. The waterways and power plant are all located inside the mountain. The power plant is equipped with a Francis turbine.
