Pålsbu power plant

Pålsbu power plant is located directly under Pålsbu Dam in Nore og Uvdal Municipality in Buskerud County.

Development of the plant started in 2006, and it was commissioned in the summer of 2007. The power plant building was designed by the architectural firm Manthey Kula.

The power plant uses a height of fall of between 5 and 10 metres from the surface of the water in Lake Pålsbufjorden and down to the turbine in the power station. The installed capacity is 6 MW. Annual mean production is approximately 22 GWh.

Pålsbu Dam is the longest concrete plate dam in Norway at 632 metres. This dam, along with Tunhovd Dam, form the main reservoir for Nore I power plant. Pålsbu Dam was completed in 1946 after it became necessary to expand the reservoir capacity for Nore I.
